3^rd Announcement of the Eighth International Symposium on Persimmon

Dear colleagues,

On behalf of the Organizing Committees, we are pleased to invite you to participate in the Eighth International Symposium on Persimmon (EISP) will be held in Yangling and Fuping, Shaanxi Province, China during October 20-25, 2024.
Under the aegis of International Society for Horticultural Science (ISHS) and Chinese Society for Horticultural Science (CSHS), this symposium is jointly organized by Northwest A&F University (NWAFU), State Key Laboratory for Crop Stress Resistance and High-Efficiency Production (NWAFU), Huazhong Agricultural University (HZAU), National Key Laboratory for Germplasm Innovation & Utilization of Horticultural Crops (HZAU), Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Shaanxi Province, Management Committee of Yangling Agricultural High-tech Industry Demonstration Zone and Fuping Persimmon Industry Association, and supported by College of Horticulture (NWAFU), Administration for Rural Revitalization of Management Committee of Yangling Agricultural High-tech Industry Demonstration Zone and Yangling Fruit Industry Innovation Center.

The theme of the symposium has been set to “International cooperation to promote global persimmon industry scale, benefits and diversification development”.

Call for Full Manuscript

Full manuscript should be submitted electronically via ISHS online submission and review tool (ROSA) after abstract acceptance by EISP Scientific Committee, the full manuscript submission and revision deadline due to December 20, 2024. Programme

This is a two-day academic symposium in Yangling, with three-day social and technical visits in main persimmon cultivation area of China, Yangling Agricultural High-tech Industry Demonstration Zone and Fuping County and Lintong District, Xi’an City.
The scientific programme in Yangling includes 2 plenary lectures, 4 keynote speech, 24 oral presentations and 39 posters presentation, ISHS business meeting and National Field Genebank for Persimmon (Yangling) visiting. There will also be abundant and diverse social or technical visits in Lintong and Fuping including the 2024 Fuping Jianshi Festival, a kind of celebration attended by nearly twenty thousand people each year.
The technical tours include on-site visiting typical orchards, dried persimmon and wine processing enterprise, Persimmon Museum of China and Chinese famous ancient resort (Lintong).

Registration
The regular registration fees and other detailed information can be found on Web pages of the Symposium (REGISTRATION). On-site registration will be at Maison New Century Hotel Yangling lobby on Oct. 20.

Venue

Maison New Century Hotel Yangling is the main venue during Oct. 20-22. Visiting place include National Field Genebank for Persimmon (Yangling), Lintong District, Xi'an City on Oct. 23 and 6 sites in Fuping County during Oct. 24-25.
Delegates can access to Maison New Century Hotel Yangling under volunteers help by free vehicle from Xi’an Xianyang International Airport or Yanglingnan Railway Station to Maison New Century Hotel Yangling.

Accommodation and Meals

Volunteers

Volunteers from Northwest A&F University and Huazhong Agricultural University can speak simple English and provide translation to needed help. Guiding delegates to EISP free shuttle at Xi’an Xianyang International Airport exit or Yanglingnan Railway Station exit with EISP Reception Board, help transportation of luggage if needed. Guiding participants to relevant check-in at EISP reception desk at Maison New Century Yangling Hotel, Vienna Hotel, Fuping Nanshan Garden Boutique Hotel and check in / out in the EISP recommended hotels. Offering translations when delegates have special meal and medical needs.

The symposium is open to whom interested in any related fields on persimmon. We are looking forward to hosting you in Yangling-Fuping during October 20-25, 2024!
